Kathy Haq

Kathy works part-time as the communications manager at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden. She lived in Santa Fe from 1984 to 1999, when she moved to Dana Point, Calif. She returned to Santa Fe in December 2017 after retiring from the University of California with 25 years of service. A onetime daily newspaper journalist, Kathy worked at both the Albuquerque Journal and the Santa Fe New Mexican. She recently was published in the Santa Fean magazine. Kathy has held communications and project management positions at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Philips Semiconductors and the University of California, Irvine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Nevada-Reno and an MBA from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. She is a Master Gardener and completed volunteer naturalist training at Saddleback College in Orange County, Calif.  She enjoys gardening and the outdoors and considers herself a “backyard naturalist.”
