Cactus Garden (Demo Garden)
Project Description
The Cactus Garden began in 2012 and design work and plantings are expected to continue for several years. Most of our plants are identified by a numbered rock corresponding to a plant list at the garden entrance, so that Master Gardeners and the general public can learn about our plantings. The Cactus Garden is part of the Santa Fe Fairground Complex of gardens and Master Gardener projects which also includes an Herb and Vegetable Garden, the Xeric Demonstration Garden, a Rainwater Catchment Project and a Composting Project.
Project Goal
Our goal is to showcase these wonderfully drought tolerant plants in an appealing garden that receives minimal maintenance and almost no supplemental water.
