Meet in Demo Herb Garden, then continue to the SF County Extension office kitchen
Come have some fun learning with us in the 2023 Herb Preservation workshop! We will provide brief presentations on the Demonstration Herb Garden and Harvesting and Preservation methods. During this workshop, there will be hands-on opportunities in preserving produce and herbs using methods of pickling, freezing, freeze drying, and drying. Each participant will be able to take home several samples of what we create. Join Us for the final 2023 Herb Garden workshop!

DETAILS: Santa Fe Seed Stewards, Diane Pratt and Susie Sonflieth will take participants on a journey of why seed saving is so important today. Basic seed saving methods will be covered along with good techniques for harvesting and storing your seeds.

Plants for Plentiful Pollinators @ Audubon Center Classroom
Part of SFEMG “Let’s Grow” program. Native plants that support New Mexico’s diverse pollinator species and how to promote a year-round pollinator-friendly landscape will be discussed, with a focus on drought-tolerant, resilient plants that provide blooms from early spring to late fall.
2023 Cooking with Herbs
The three hour class\demo\hands-on starts in the Demo Herb Garden with some background information about the Herb Garden, various growing methods in the demo garden, and the plant inventory. Selected Herbs will then be harvested and we move to the Extension Office kitchen for the remainder of the class.
